Here is information on all the different enemy groups in Dauntless. We'll be adding more enemies regularly.

---

The Jolly Roger Gang
Description: The Jolly Roger Gang is a new found group that has taken to the streets. They aren't very organized, but are extremely brash. Recently, they are believed to have found several magical artifacts and have started to partake in necromancy; raising the dead.

Swabbie
Description: The Swabbies are the grunts of the Jolly Rogers. They carry knives, pistols, axes, bats. Any weapon they can get their hand on. They like to dress in leather and bandannas.

Pirate
Description: These are the "Lieutenants" of the Jolly Rogers. They carry cutlasses and pistols and are extremely skilled at using them.

Death Captain
Description: These are the main leaders of the Jolly Rogers. They have begun studying Necromancy and have learned to control it. They can raise the dead, create dark magic to use in melee and ranged combat, and have taken on attributes of the zombies they command. They look like gaunt faced pirates.

Zombie
Description: Zombies can be summoned by the Death Captains. They are very resilient to most types of attacks and are very strong. However, they move slowly and are incredibly stupid.

Horror Meat
Description: Horror Meats, are like zombies, but much bigger. They are usually assembled from various corpses, but powerful Death Capitans can summon them. Bullets have almost no effect. They are also much faster and stronger than Zombies.

Davy Jones
Description: The current leader of the Jolly Roger's has taken up the mantle of Davy Jones. He is much more powerful than a normal Death Captain, but has the same powers. He carries an ancient cutlass infused with dark magic.

Magi
Description: The Magi are a fearsome group of sorcerers. They've been studying demonology and magic for a long time. They are a formidable force.

Imp
Description: The imp is a common fighter for the Magi. It can fly and uses teeth and claws to attack the enemy. They are employed in hordes.

Goblin
Description: A slightly more powerful demon than the Imp, the Goblin is skilled at ranged combat. They can even cast minor fire spells and carry crossbows.

Fire Sorcerer
Description: These sorcerers control the element of fire. They're dressed in red hooded robes and carry a scepter that gives them power.

Stone Sorcerer
Description: These sorcerers control the element of stone and earth. They're dressed in brown hooded robes and carry a scepter that gives them power.

Grand Sorcerer
Description: These are the most powerful of the spellcasters in the Magi. They make Fire and Earth bend to their will and do what they want. They are part of the leading caste of the Magi.

Warlock
Description: The Warlocks are a separate branch of the Magi. They specialize in demonology and can summon beings to do their will.

Gargoyle
Description: A gargoyle is a demon summoned by a Warlock. They are made of stone and can weigh over a ton, but they have wings and can fly. Their appearances differ, some having more demonic features like horns and tails, while some are more like animals. They are very strong and agile.

Djinn
Description: A djinn, called a genie in some cultures, is a spirit of fire and air. They can take any form and are the most subtle of the demons the Warlocks employ. Stone and Water can severely injure them as well as some herbs and incenses. They are very hard to control for a Warlock since they are extremely intelligent. They can cast fire and control air to do their bidding.

Reaper
Description: The Reapers are corpse-like demons with pale, clammy skin. They are of human form, but have long talons and saber teeth. They wear heavy black cloaks and have gleaming red eyes. They have abnormal strength, speed and reflexes. The only way to kill a Reaper is to attack its Warlock controller since the Warlock must maintain focus. If the Warlock loses focus, then the connection is broken and the Reaper disintegrates into a fine white ash.

Shu'Koth
Description: The Grand Mage of the Magi directs his followers to do his bidding. He wants more knowledge and power over arcane forces and demons. He doesn't particularly have a grudge against anyone but if they are in his way to more power, then he will destroy them. Shu'Koth himself is a wiry and frail old man. However, he has great magical power because he fused a Great Spirit inside of him. He is now half demon, utilizing the demon's speed, strength, arcana and other powers. The only outward symptoms of this are his scarlet eyes. He can be found in a business suit when in his mansion or in black robes when with his Magi.

It is extremely hard to take one of these soldiers down. They also wear rocket boots to give them the power of flight.

Jetrix
Description: Jetrix was originally a Hero that fought for justice and honor. However, he has been corrupted with power and ambition. He was a brilliant genius as a child and invented his power suit. It gives him control over pure energy, allowing him to release it in blasts and explosions. It also allows him to fly. Once he started experimenting with chemicals he founded Destrius Inc. Now, he's undergone experiments and has regenerative powers, super strength, telepathy, super reflexes and invulnerability. He is an extremely dangerous foe, and insane as well.

Specter
Description: The Specters are the tactical government soldiers in SPEC. They are pulled from the military, police and mercenary groups to train. They use light, nano armor which can change its properties from flexible to stiff in order to be maneuverable and stop a bullet. Their helmet (which vaguely resembles a motorcycle helmet) has a heads-up-display which gives them targeting data, information on their team and a tactical map of their surroundings. The nano armor can also change its color and because of this the Specters are sometimes called Chameleons. Their weaponry consists of .45magnum Desert Eagles, Bullpup rifles, and shotguns. They also carry a blade of some sort, usually a katana or medieval longsword. They work in teams of five, with a Lieutenant as a team leader.

Phantom
Description: The Phantoms are similar to spies. They go undercover and infiltrate villain groups and vigilante hero teams. They are all trained in martial arts and have neural implants to give them enhanced reflexes. When they use weaponry, they like to use close-range weapons like swords or knives but will use any weapon available.

Enforcer

They don't engage in actual combat and are more of a labor force, building defenses, supplying ammunition, and carrying wounded. They are all 14 to 18 years old.

Stillwater Soldier
Description: The Stillwater Soldiers are the true fighters of the Stillwater Mercenaries. They wear the indigo cloak over their bodyarmor and use many different types of high-tech weaponry. In honor of their ancestors, under their hood, they wear a Spartan-styled helm. They are quick, intelligent and ferocious warriors.

The Column
Description: The Column are an underground mutant-testing company, run by "Master Damien", that are working, through various subplots and projects, to develop the "ultimate mutant gene". This gene, when discovered, would later be implanted in to Master Damien to allow him to take control over Baltimore, and ultimately, the world. The reason why this human would subject himself to being implanted with a mutant gene is unknown.

Master Damien
Discription: He is the owner and founder of the Column. He wishes to be a Mutant which is why he wants tests run on the ones they can find, and he demands to have the information sent to him. He wants the Ultimate Mutant Gene.

Destrius Inc.
Description: Destrius Inc. is one of their most current and succesful operations of mutant testing. Here they have come close to developing mutants with nearly every power imaginable through horrific testing. Yet, unlike other projects, Destrius Inc. comes across as an official business, and thusly hasnt been shut down by the government.

Neverland
Description: Neverland is a second sub-operation by the Column, but was far more brutal to its patients, and was designed under the motto "find out as much as you can, then scrap the rest." Essentially, Neverland would perform experimentations on living and concious patients untill they were killed from the pain. Recently, Neverland was found out by the government and shut down, but, it's unknown if the files on their mutant testing are still around.

I apologize greatly for this if I can't post this, but I thought it would be good to show you guys the descriptions of the units as they are made available to Crypton so you guys will be more informed.

Absolutely no problem. Any member, feel free to post here to add to the experience here at DAUNTLESS. -- Icky.

****************************************************
-Cryptic Defenders are the backbone of the Hellbringer army. They are numerous and provide strong fire support with their Gauss Flayers. Their "living metal" bodies allow them to sustain massive damage and continue functioning.

-Flayed Ones are Cryptic Defenders who retain some of their original consciousness and have been driven mad by their ageless imprisonment. They are quite capable melee fighters, with claws and blades that can flay a man alive in seconds. They usually adorn themselves with still wet pieces of skin and hide from their latest victims. In such a state, they are a terrifying sight to behold, so much that sometimes enemy fighters lose their nerve by just looking at them. Flayed Ones also frequently act in a manner similar to scouts, sneaking ahead of the main Hellbringer force or even burying themselves in the ground, and use either method to gain the element of surprise during a battle.

-Immortals Cryptic Defenders that favored Lord Engronder, the first Hellbringer OverLord, who were among the first to give up their flesh and embrace the metal were rewarded by being Immortals. They are more durable, heavy variants of the Cryptic Defender and they wield Gauss Blasters, calibrated for maximum effectiveness against infantry. However, being armed with gauss weapons, Immortals are fully capable of taking down vehicles.

*NEW!* -Wraiths are one of the more sophisticated Hellbringer units. They lack legs or a lower body (except for the spinal cord) and hover over the battlefield, moving at supernatural speeds. They are fearsome close combat warriors, and they can phase in and out during their flight, becoming ghostly figures (thus the name wraith). This phase shift ability allows them to move through solid objects or even to avoid damage. It has been suggested that Wraiths were murderers or psychopaths before their steel imprisonment.

*NEW!* -Destroyers are Cryptic Defenders fused to fast and agile hovercraft platforms. Equipped with Gauss Cannons and sophisticated targeting systems which enable them to fire while moving, Destroyers are ideal for hit-and-run attacks or disrupting enemy flanks. They also come in a Heavy Destroyer variant, which is armed with the more powerful Heavy Gauss Cannon, useful for destroying foes with the heaviest armor.

Creatures Summoned by Christian Thomas

Skeletons
The most basic summoning, Christian can make them from dust, dirt, or sand. They are ordinary human skeletons made from bone, and they usually wield swords or other weapons made from bone. They are somewhat intelligent, using the "swarm them from all sides" tactic on their enemies.

Zombies
Virtually identical to the zombies summoned by the Jolly Rogers. Zombies have high resistance to attacks and are strong, but slow and incredibly stupid. They cannot, however, come up from under asphalt and concrete, making them pretty useless in urban areas.

Golems
These are the most powerful of his summonings, Golems are humanoid creatures made from rock and dirt. They are stronger and more resistant than zombies, but Christian has to command them himself or they will just stand there and do nothing.

Project HACK
Information on Project Hack: Project Hack is an underground based group of people wanting to take down SPEC by hacking into their systems to get information on all Supers and ultimately destroying them all. They are said to be located underneath Four Winds, although this has not been confirmed it is highly thought of that it is where they are located.

Robo-Gaurds
The first level of protection is Robo-Guards, simple robotic guards carrying large guns called MT-9s. They can be easily taken down by taking off their head, or a large amount of damage to their chest. They look like any other guard, but they have robotic features. Slight ticks usually occur(Twitches of the neck, stutter in their voice, eyes will blink a lot, etc.).

Havocs
The second level of guards are highly trained supers, they have been experimented on many times to get their powers. They do not use many weapons, but they will if needed. They look like standard guards which might fool some people that they aren’t very strong. The Havoc’s are very powerful and hard to defeat. They have one defect though. In their brain is a microchip linked to the computers in one of the rooms built underground, if you could find those computers you could practically control the Havocs.

Hackers
The hackers are just normal people who work for Project HACK, they dress in light blue lab coats with their names and level of skill on the back. They do not carry any protection ever so they are very easily taken down. They usually pace around the underground base, or are on a computer working.

Hacker X
Gregory Xion also known as “Hacker X”, rumored to be one of the most powerful supers ever discovered. Having the power to control certain forms of technology with his mind he is considered greatly dangerous. He is the leader of Project HACK, and he started it to take down all other supers to become the most powerful in the world. He has also been trained in many different fighting styles so even if he cannot use his powers he can still do some damage. If Gregory was taken down the entire project would fail, but if his project fails and he doesn’t he will start another one just like it to try and destroy all supers!

Daemonites
Demons from another dimension, known as Daemonites, have been congregating to our dimension, having already reduced the population of humans in their world. The fact is that these demons need to inhabit human bodies to survive, as they have no solid form in which to gain nutrients to survive.

Recently they have begun possessing the bodies of the humans in this dimension, using their bodies to eat. The trouble is, they're very violent and more territorial than most other species. If they claim an area as their home, they will kill anyone who steps even two inches into it.

The species has been claiming territories all around the edges of the city, most of them respecting other people's territories (Besides them possessing bodies) and come into town, commonly asking permission to do any single thing, even breath.

The reason the population of humans in there world has become diminished is due to one faction of Daemonite, the Bluetusks (Named for having blue teeth), eventually devouring their hosts to gain their own bodies.

Another problem was that the Redskins (Known for having red skin), took complete control of their hosts to do what the individual Redskin liked to do (Retnuh, as an example, took over Hunter for 18 years in order to do what he loved, kill and steal.) until the Redskin found a way to escape. This commonly made the humans think the person was somewhat crazy or evil, and in the universe that these humans lived in, criminals were killed instead of jailed.

The last type proved no real problem, the Greenbacks (Known for having a green dragon-shaped Tattoo on their back) lived in a Symbiotic relationship, the Human feeding the Greenback by eating larger amounts of food, and the Greenbacks protecting the human when it saw the situation dangerous.

 X-Weed and the Blackweed Gang

X-Weed: The so-called "X-weed" is a small plant that looks something like a dandelion. It's unknown where it first appeared, though some suspect it came from one of the more radioactive areas of Wyman Park. While its yellow-orange flowers and deep green leaves are poisonous, the plant has another property that makes it even more dangerous: during the spread of the X-gene, a mutated version somehow merged itself into the plant.

The end result: if a person smokes the leaves of the plant, the poison burns off, but the superpower-inducing substance makes its way into the persons system, granting them powers for as long as the effects of the plant persist. The power gained varies from person to person, but is the same every time the person smokes the X-weed.

This would be enough of a problem for law-keepers already, but the weed also acts as a hallucinogenic drug in most people. Additionally, it blocks signals from the pre-frontal lobe of the brain, which governs judgment, meaning that those using the plant will likely be superpowered, hallucinating, and uninhibited - a bad combination no matter how you look at it. To top it off, the plant is highly addictive, making it a full-fledged drug.

For people who already have superpowers, the drug is particularly dangerous for several reasons:
  • If the person has the X-gene, their body could reject the plant's version of the gene, causing often violent illness.
  • Even if the person does not have the X-gene, the power they gain may be incompatible with their own powers, causing any number of unique problems (for example, a person with plant related powers gaining involuntary pyrokinesis).
  • A person using their natural powers without inhibition is likely to attract the attention of the SPEC very quickly.
The Blackweed Gang: This gang started as a loose group of X-weed users and sellers, but in recent years it's developed a rigid hierarchy. Between all of its members, most common superpowers are represented, and many of them have adapted enough to the drug that it no longer causes hallucinations, though their inhibitions are still suppressed. This allows them to act more logically, causing great problems for the BPD.

The hierarchy has several levels:
  • X-Addicts: The lowest grunts in the gang, these are typically recent addicts, agreeing to do the gang's dirtiest work in exchange for their drug of choice. They aren't usually armed, and while they are still dangerous while under the influence of the X-weed, they are new enough to the drug that its hallucinogenic effects limit their effectiveness in a fight.
  • X-Users: X-users, while still addicts doing work for the gag, are no longer affected by its hallucinogens. They are much more dangerous because of it, though they are almost never armed.
  • X-Vets: These veteran users are high enough in the hierarchy of the gang to reap more benefits than costs from its efforts. They handle most of the selling and recruiting jobs in the gang, and are often armed with a large knife or machete in addition to their X-induced abilities.
  • X-Lieutenants: Often called "Xtenants" for short, these "officers" answer directly to their leader, Xphere. They have been using X-weed for years, long enough that even the anti-inhibition effects of the drug have begun to stop effecting them. They often carry guns, and have near-perfect control of their powers.
Xphere: (pronounced "ex-fear")
  • Real Name: Trent Ferral
  • Age: 29
  • Powers: X-induced spherical force fields, natural power over "noble gas" elements (helium, neon, krypton, etc.)
The leader of the Blackweed Gang, whose real name is Trent Ferral, is an extremely dangerous man. He's also very lucky: though he has a natural superpower, it actually complements the X-induced power, strengthening the power of his natural noble gas control and causing his X-induced force field ability to be much stronger than others' X-induced powers. Although he takes the drug almost constantly, he is entirely unaffected by its side-effects, but his natural disposition makes him prone to a lack of inhibition anyway. Intelligent, ruthless, unpredictable, and not at all above killing to get his way, he shouldn't be approached by anyone not ready for a fight.

NOTE: I may use Xphere as a character in the future, but it's not likely. He's an NPC for all other purposes. ;)

Actually, scratch that, I'm gonna use him as a character, since I can't think of any other villain ideas. :( I've got some fun things to do with his powers, though. ;D
